Course Details
Data science is an
interdisciplinary field which involves large sets of data, both structured and unstructured,
where a data scientist analyses the situations and predicts the trends better
than any other analytical field. The algorithms in Data Science involve
predictive analytics. DS is about the future.
If you are aspiring to become a data scientist
there are different skill sets where you need to excel in, such as, (a) Databases which is required to store and analyze the data , (b) Statistics, at advanced levels,
for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting the empirical data, (c) Programing Tools, especially R and Python, which are open source and their respective libraries, (d)Data Wrangling/mining for
organizing and manipulating the data and (e)Machine
learning which involves high level statistical modelling and programs
written to make the systems learn and improve.
In this course we cover detailed
concepts of Python, R along with Basic Statistics and progress into Advance Statistics and venture into Machine Learning concepts such as Regression Techniques, Black
Box Methods, Forecasting, Decision Trees, Random Forests etc. We test these ML concepts in both Python and R
with hands on real world examples practically. This course is suitable for
beginners and freshers too but some previous programming knowledge is required.
This course has 50 hours of on demand videos made in live class which includes
interactions from the student with their doubts for better understanding.
Please refer the curriculum section for detailed curriculum.

Answer: The usual job description of a data scientist demands programming skills in Python, R, SQL, Scala etc, data modeling approaches, ability to build data pipelines using data visualization tools like Spotfire. Skills such as ETL, data aggregation and analysis, data preparation etc. Statistical techniques like regression techniques, decision trees, Random Forests, neural networks, vectors, predictive modelling, classification techniques are some of the skills a data scientist should essentially having. A data scientist should be an analytics expert first.
Answer: According to Glassdoor, the national average salary of a data scientist is around ₹10 lakh per annum. Mid level data scientist can earn around ₹12-₹14 lakh per annum. At management level a data scientist can comfortably earn somewhere between ₹24 lakh and ₹30 lakh per annum,
